Book Bugs is a theme-based literacy and craft program designed for children between the ages of 3 -7 years old. Through carefully selected books and related crafts and activities, children explore the joy of reading and creating. Using both large and small motor skills, sequencing, color, number and letter recognition to name a few, children gain a wealth of knowledge and skills while escaping in the magical world of children’s literature.

Book Bugs Literacy Boxes encourage a love for reading and creativity through theme-based stories and crafts for children ages 3-7!
Each box is designed around a central theme. This theme is weaved through the book, the craft and the supplemental materials. The box includes a read-aloud story, all the things you need to make an arts and crafts project, supplemental learning material and/or toy, and a parent guide.
Develop literacy skills
Just as a child develops language skills long before they are able to speak, they also develop literacy skills long before being able to read. This program is designed to open the mind and eyes of young children to the world of books. There are teachable moments in everything we do. Harvest a love for books and learning.
Social and emotional opportunities.
Reading aloud and playing imaginative games offer special social and emotional opportunities. According to a Washington Post news article, studies have shown that when children are read to and played with more, the children have an opportunity to think about characters and to think about the feelings of those characters. They learn to use words to describe feelings that are otherwise difficult, and this enables them to better control their behavior when they have challenging feelings like anger or sadness.

No. Each box is individually curated and designed to the specification of the box size. Combining boxes can damage some of the more delicate craft items.
